We’re truly inspired by a video shared by Rochdale Connections Trust (RCT), featuring Mike Milenko, one of their incredible mentors.
Michael began volunteering with RCT as a youth mentor to give back and gain experience, but in the video he shares how it became so much more. With training and support, he gained confidence, developed new skills and made a real difference in young people’s lives. Volunteering helped him grow personally and professionally, even opening doors to a new career which he’s excited about.
His story is a powerful reminder of how giving back can also lead to personal growth and unexpected new paths.
Since 1997, Rochdale Connections Trust has supported families, young people and those experiencing domestic abuse across Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton and The Pennines. Michael’s story shows how volunteering can strengthen communities and transform lives.
