For Generations To Come is a new initiative to help spark ideas, build connections and support long-term positive change in Rochdale.
We believe the best future for our town will be shaped by the people and organisations who care deeply about it – and who are ready to explore new possibilities together.
Our first step was a gathering at Rochdale Town Hall in May 2025. It was a night of celebration, connection and conversation. Now, we are taking early steps in a longer journey.
Rochdale’s story is one of resilience, creativity and collective action.
It has always been driven by people who believed in what Rochdale could be, people who stepped forward, people who worked together and made things happen.
From grassroots projects to bold ideas, positive change has always come from those who cared enough to get involved.
We’ve got the chance to shape what comes next, together.
For Generations To Come was sparked by the ambition of Rochdale AFC’s new owners, the Ogden family, who want the club to play a bigger role in the life of the town and contribute to a thriving future for Rochdale.
From this starting point, For Generations To Come has become an open invitation — to connect, to listen, and to explore what could be possible if we work together.
Our first public moment was a gathering at Rochdale Town Hall in May 2025, bringing together over 200 people from across the borough.
We are now taking the first steps to build on that energy — including supporting early listening and connecting work being carried out by the Our Future team, who are helping to open up new conversations about Rochdale’s future.
For Generations To Come is just getting started and this is work that no single person or organisation can do alone.
If you’d like to follow our progress, hear about future opportunities to get involved, or simply stay connected, we’d love to hear from you.
