Walking the Rochdale Way for Springhill Hospice

Earlier this month the fabulous team at Myson Pages arranged a sponsored walk around the 45 mile Rochdale Way for Springhill Hospice. Our Jet completed 30 miles on Day one and was joined by For Generations To Come founder Cameron Ogden for a few miles on Day two. It was definitely worth the blisters as the group have already raised over £10,000.

The Rochdale Way is a circular trail around the borough, and over two days, people came together to complete the route, joining for an hour, a mile, half a day or the whole challenge.

For Jet, it was a brilliant opportunity to get out and explore more of the borough, meet people from different communities and hear their stories along the way. There were plenty of wonderful conversations, shared experiences and moments of connection, making it a truly collaborative effort.

That sense of people coming together is something we see across Rochdale every day. Whether it’s walking 45 miles for a local cause, sharing an idea for the future or simply getting to know the people and places around us, it’s the connections between people that help make our borough such a special place.

Most importantly, the challenge raised more than £10,000 for Springhill Hospice, which provides specialist care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, donated or supported the challenge. It was a wonderful example of people coming together, supporting an important local cause and celebrating Rochdale along the way.

If you would like to donate, it’s not too late. You can still donate and help raise even more for Springhill Hospice, here’s the link to the JustGiving page
